Character licensing visual style guide for Richard the Stork, an independent animated feature film that went head to head with Disney.
In conjunction with the film’s release, the production house aimed to expand their brand through an extensive merchandising programme.
Collaborating closely with the producers and licensing agency, I developed a comprehensive look-book showcasing a wide range of assets to introduce potential licensees to the potential of the available assets.
The project largely involved curating material directly from the film to conceptualise a diverse range of bespoke packaging and product ideas, demonstrating the brand’s versatility across a wide variety of applications.
These elements were then integrated into a carefully designed layout system, which drew heavily on the visual language of the film and its associated marketing materials. By referencing the film’s typography, color palettes, and graphic motifs, the system not only ensured a cohesive and consistent brand identity but also reinforced the connection between the merchandising assets and the cinematic world, creating a seamless experience for both licensees and audiences.
